Ambient condition monitoring in temperature transmitters
Log functions make external effects on transmitter performance visible
Challenge
Out-of-spec ambient temperatures or a fluctuating power supply have an impact on temperature transmitter performance. This is particularly true for head-mounted transmitters located close to thermal equipment and exposed to ambient conditions exceeding specification. This leads to a decrease in measurement accuracy in the end.
Solution
OPTITEMP temperature transmitters with log function for ambient temperature and voltage peaks provide increased process reliability. This allows operators to monitor e.g. if ambient parameters are within transmitter specification or if steps need to be taken to change transmitter installation.
